It was 2001 when, from a small wine shop, just beyond the walls of Montefalco, what is now the restaurant L’Alchimista was born. The wine shop, managed at that time by Cristina with the help of Patrizia, offered customers small samples of cured meats and bruschetta because, even then, we believe that the best way to celebrate the essence of a good wine was to accompany its scent with flavors that made the experience unforgettable for the palate. From that moment on, the wine shop began to be known also for the quality of the food and in a short time, to welcome the many people who showed up, we moved to the spaces on the Piazza del Mercato. Now our entire family takes care of the restaurant and allows it to grow so that, in the hands of Patrizia, all the excellent raw materials tell you time and time again about the Umbrian territory and its history. Transforming simple ingredients into dishes full of flavor: this is the essence of an alchemist.
A strong and determined person, a devotion to cooking that encourages her to never cease learning. Patrizia’s dishes reflect her way of being: they are proof of her genuine and sincere attachment to her land and family, and enhance the innate beauty that lies in simplicity. Patrizia treats the vegetables from the garden as creatures to be raised with kindness, one season at a time. In the midst of these, she is able to recognize wild herbs and picks some herself every day to make them the protagonists of L’Alchimista’s menus.
The organization, within L’Alchimista, is closely and meticulously managed by Barbara, so that your dining experience becomes a pleasant, exciting and lasting memory. From the table setting to the staff’s professionalism, from L’Alchimista brand projects to the definition of a new working method, it is Barbara who takes care of leading the family restaurant into the future. Hers is an ambitious program that aims straight at excellence, and starts from the very first moment you step into L’Alchimista.

After a long career in the role of sommelier in the restaurant, Cristina has chosen to follow in Patrizia’s footsteps. She helps her in the kitchen while learning the many secrets to her cuisine and contributing, along with Patrizia and Barbara to L’Alchimista’s growth.
